Firbank Grammar was recently awarded the Best Co-Curricular Program at the 2022 Australian Education Awards, and we are excited to be in search of an enthusiastic and dedicated Experiential Education Teacher to join our Senior School. We are looking for someone who is passionate and ready to play a major role in development and running of all aspects of the Firbank Grammar Experiential Education program.This role is a full time, fixed term role for the 2023 school year, commencing 23 January 2023.Firbank will accept applications from VIT and non-VIT candidates. Key responsibilities:Participate in all Experiential Education programs (approximately 70 – 80 days)Take responsibility for planning, preparing and delivering entire programs as directedDevelop risk assessments, curriculum documentation and reporting systemsObserve safe work practices, maintain a safe and supportive environmentAssist in program and curriculum developmentKey AttributesA strong understanding of outdoor and experiential learning with a desire to further that skill set through coordinating and developing programs. Proactive positive communicator able to work well in a team. Proactive practical ‘can do’ attitude and problem-solving skills. Strong work ethic, enthusiasm and passion driven to deliver quality work. Demonstrate a passion for the field of Experiential Education (service, cultural, outdoor, environmental, adventure)Sound understanding of risk managementQualifications and Experience Demonstrated experience coordinating outdoor education, journey-based programs.
