We want you to be someone who shares our passion for providing the best possible care and high quality learning support for children aged between 3-4 years old. The Educational Leader has the responsibility to coordinate and oversee the educational outcomes and operations of the Early Learning Centre which encompasses the Long Day and Standard Day programs, as well as to manage all activities within the Centre in an efficient and effective manner.Key Responsibilities:Your role within the ELC as Educational Leader will be to ensure the care and education of each child and promote strong partnerships with all families. Ensure the Centre maintains adherence to policies and procedures, as well as the standards of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and Law, and the National Quality Standards. Other duties and tasks may include: Fulfil Nominated Supervisor responsibilities, as per ACECQA guidelinesChairing regular meetings, ensuring administration is conducted in an efficient and timely manner, dealing appropriately with interpersonal issues affecting the team and dealing with parent concerns and performance issuesIn liaison with the Head of Campus, implement an effective staff management process with a view to maximising continuity of staff including recruitment, induction and orientation of new staff, supervision of workplace students and volunteersManage the physical resources for the Early Learning Centre. This includes items such as budgets, classroom equipment, capital forecasts and technology requirements as appropriate and as required in conjunction with the Head of CampusLead the continuous improvement of the Centre and the development and maintenance of Quality Improvement Plans (QIP)Generate and regularly review the Early Years learning curriculum that reflects appropriate approaches to education for 3 and 4 year olds.identify and address child safety risksQualifications and Experience:Degree in Early Childhood or equivalent as approved by ACECQACurrent First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications as recommended by the Education and Care Services National RegulationsELC VIT RegistrationExperience teaching ELC 3 and ELC 4Leadership experience would be highly desirableStrong understanding of PYP in the Early Years and a commitment to the principles and practices of the Reggio Emilia approach would be highly regardedKnowledge of Long Day Care sector (preferable)Food Handling CertificateMandatory Reporting TrainingAbout Firbank Grammar SchoolFor more than 110 years Firbank Grammar has been at the forefront of teaching and learning, providing exceptional education and outstanding opportunities to its students.
