Grounds Person

We would love for you to join our friendly and hardworking grounds team here at Firbank Grammar. The Grounds Person plays a highly essential role in ensuring that the grounds are maintained in a healthy way that reflects our ethos and strategic intent of the organisation. We are seeking a hands-on, team player with a can-do attitude who is looking for the next challenge in their career.As the Grounds Person you will work alongside the Building and Facilities Manager, Grounds Curator and Project manager while also possessing the ability to work autonomously, re-skill and learn independently. Someone who is reliable with a knowledge of horticulture will fit in seamlessly with our highly motivated team. Operation and daily tasks may include:Maintenance of the school's landscape and paths using machinery as directed.Maintaining ornamental lawns, sports fields, nature strips and garden beds of 3 campuses and attached properties.Mowing, watering, weeding, fertilising, planting, and pruning.Preparing ovals for sport e.g. mark lines, goal installation/removal, etc.Ensuring the landscape is free of litter and debris.Attending to maintenance duties as directed.Maintaining and operating a variety of irrigation systems.Qualifications/Licenses:Horticultural trade/certificate preferred or being undertaken.Working With Children's Check (or willing to get one).Drivers License.What we offer:Full uniform, PPE and Equipment provided.Monthly staff lunch and regular morning tea functions.On site canteen.Employee Assistance Program.Great team, providing flexible working arrangements (within reason).No set after hours or weekend work, however this may be requested occasionally.Inclusive and supportive culture.Opportunity to work in a highly regarded independent school in Brighton.Close proximity to public transport.Employee Assistance Program (EAP).Paid parental and partner leave schemes.Staff social groups and events.This is a Permanent, full-time role, commencing immediately, for the right applicant.Salary range: $65 - $70k plus superannuation (dependent on skills and experience)About Firbank Grammar SchoolFor more than 110 years Firbank Grammar has been at the forefront of teaching and learning, providing exceptional education and outstanding opportunities to its students. Grounds Person

  • Located in Beautiful Bayside, working across 3 campuses
  • Salary range: $65 - $70k plus super (dependent on skills & experience)
